Puerto Viejo is a town not far from Cahuita. Having been to both places, I would say Puerto Viejo is more lively and lively than Cahuita. It is very easy to reach Cahuita de Puerto Viejo by bus for example.

In addition to Cahuita which is located near Puerto Viejo, a few kilometers south of Puerto Viejo there is the Manzanillo reserve, which, like the Cahuita reserve, is worth a detour in my opinion. You will see many wild animals there between jungle, forest and paradise beach. In Puerto Viejo the choice of hotels is even wider than in Cahuita.
